During that time, Raghuvanshi allegedly entered the house and took away Rs 2 lakh in cash along with another mobile phone from her handbag, NDTV reported.
When the complainant noticed the missing items, she reviewed the CCTV footage from her home. The video, police sources said, clearly shows DSP Raghuvanshi entering and exiting the house and holding what appeared to be a bundle of cash while leaving the premises.
The woman immediately filed a complaint with the local police, following which an FIR was registered. The CCTV footage has been collected as key evidence in the case.
Additional Superintendent of Police Bittu Sharma confirmed that the complainant’s mobile phone was later recovered from the accused officer’s residence. “The complainant’s mobile phone has been recovered… The mobile phone was recovered from the accused’s home. She can be seen in the footage,” he said.
Police have launched multiple search operations, but the officer remains absconding. The stolen cash has not yet been found.
The Madhya Pradesh Police Headquarters has issued a departmental notice against Raghuvanshi and initiated disciplinary proceedings.
