Speaking on the show, Akanksha said, “Gaurav Khanna and I are getting divorced. We have been living separately for
the past one year. People don’t know about this yet.” She added that the decision was mutual and had not been taken overnight. “This is a decision we have both taken. We have been talking about it for the past one year,” she said.
Her revelation left hosts Riteish Deshmukh and Farah Khan surprised.
When Gaurav Khanna Opened Up About Having Children
During his time on Bigg Boss 19, Gaurav had revealed that while he wanted to become a father, Akanksha did not want children. He had made it clear that he respected her decision and would never force her.
Later, during a media interaction inside the house, Gaurav became emotional after being questioned about speaking publicly on the issue. “It’s a very touchy topic. I love my wife; there are very few husbands who don’t listen to what their heart says and agree to what their wives want,” he had said.
The actor also explained that although he wished to have children, he had accepted Akanksha’s choice because their marriage was built on love and mutual respect.
Akanksha Chamola On Her Decision Of Not Wanting Kids
After Gaurav’s comments on Bigg Boss made headlines, Akanksha had also addressed the issue. She said she had never wanted to become a mother and had always been honest with Gaurav about it from the beginning of their relationship.
She also urged people not to judge women for choosing not to have children, saying motherhood is a personal decision and should not be treated as a social obligation.
