Bengaluru, Jun 3 (PTI) Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, after assuming office on Wednesday, said that he is deeply aware that the office of CM is far more than a Constitutional office and that it is a sacred trust placed in him by the people of the state.
He also called on the people to join hands to build a Karnataka that is more compassionate, equitable, and prosperous than ever before.
“A Karnataka that our future generations will inherit with pride and carry forward to even greater heights,” he said.

This moment belongs not to me alone, but to the people of Karnataka and the lakhs of dedicated karyakartas whose affection, trust and unwavering faith have guided me through every challenge and every milestone of my journey,” Shivakumar posted on ‘X’.
Further, he said: “Through every high and low, they were my strength and my inspiration. I bow my head in gratitude to each and every one of you who believed in me and stood by me.” Shivakumar said, “I am deeply conscious that it is far more than a constitutional office. It is a sacred trust placed in me by the people of our state. On my shoulders rests the responsibility of working tirelessly to fulfil the hopes, aspirations and dreams of crores of Kannadigas. I remain forever grateful to my seniors, mentors and all those who guided me, encouraged me and gave me the strength to persevere.” He said that Karnataka had always been a land of opportunity, innovation and progress. At a time when the world was changing at an unprecedented pace, “we must harness the power of new ideas, technology and collective effort to build a stronger, more prosperous and more inclusive future.” Every farmer, worker, entrepreneur, woman, student and youth has a vital role to play in shaping the next chapter of the state’s growth, he said.
