Phagwara, Aug 29 (PTI) A family of about six pilgrims, including women, sustained injuries in a car accident on the Mehtan-Phagwara-Chandigarh bypass after the vehicle collided with a road divider and rolled into the fields.
The family was returning from the Dera Radha Soami Satsang Beas when the incident occurred.
According to the police, all injured individuals were swiftly transported to the Phagwara Civil Hospital by the Sadak Suraksha Force (SSF) team, with assistance from passersby.
The pilgrims hailed from a village in Balachaur tehsil and had just finished paying their respects at Dera Beas in the Amritsar district.
The car was badly damaged in the accident.
Assistant Sub-Inspector(ASI) of SSF, Baljit Ram, said the accident occurred about
3 kms away from the Mehtan bypass.
