Jaipur, Jun 6 (PTI) Light to moderate rainfall amid the influence of a western disturbance continued to keep intense heat conditions abated in most areas of Rajasthan.
The highest rainfall of 65 mm was recorded in Vanasthali in Tonk and 22.2 mm in Alwar since Saturday morning.
During the 24 hours ending Saturday morning, 14 mm of rainfall was recorded at Dungargarh in Bikaner district and Dag in Jhalawar district.
Strong dust storms swept parts of Kotputli-Behror on Saturday evening, turning the sky yellow and dark. Thick clouds of dust reduced visibility and disrupted normal movement.
The dust storm affected visibility on roads. People in markets and public places rushed to safer locations as strong winds swept through the area.

also barreled through, with no major damage or casualty reported immediately.
Meanwhile, Sriganganagar was recorded as the hottest place in the state with a maximum temperature of 44.3 degrees Celsius, followed by Jaisalmer where the day temperature was 43.4 degrees. Churu, Bikaner and Jodhpur recorded a maximum of 42.6, 41.5 and 41.3 degrees Celsius respectively.
The met department said that thunderstorm and rain activity is likely to continue in some parts of the state for the next couple of days due to the impact of a cyclonic circulation system over the region.
The department has forecast a decline in thunderstorm and rainfall activity from June 8 and a gradual rise of 2-3 degrees Celsius in maximum temperatures.
Temperatures in the districts of western Rajasthan are likely to reach 44-46 degrees Celsius between June 8 and June 11, and heatwave conditions may prevail at a few places during the period. PTI SDA SHS
