Ram Charan is currently immersed in the shoot of his upcoming sports action drama Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana. However, fresh reports now suggest that the actor could be gearing up for a high-profile collaboration with Sanjay Leela Bhansali on a visually ambitious period adventure.
Ram Charan–Bhansali Film In The Works?
According to a report by Guite, Bhansali is said to be exploring a historical adventure drama set against a dense jungle backdrop, with Ram Charan being considered for the lead role. The project is reportedly envisioned as a period thriller, blending scale with storytelling in Bhansali’s signature style.
The script is believed to have been developed by writer Durgesh Singh, known for projects like Gullak and Shakti Shalini.
Sources suggest that the story has been expanded into a full-fledged screenplay designed for a major star.
While Bhansali is reportedly keen on casting Charan, it remains unclear whether the project has been formally pitched to the actor. As of now, there has been no official confirmation from either side.
A Collaboration That Almost Happened Earlier
This isn’t the first time the two names have been linked. Back in 2024, Ram Charan and Bhansali were reportedly in discussions for an adaptation of The Legend of Suheldev by Amish Tripathi.
However, the project did not progress beyond initial conversations, leaving fans waiting for a collaboration that never materialised. The latest development, if it takes shape, could finally bring the two together on screen.
Bhansali Busy With ‘Love & War’
Meanwhile, Bhansali is currently occupied with his next directorial venture Love & War, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. The film is already one of the most anticipated projects in his lineup.
Ram Charan’s Recent And Upcoming Projects
Ram Charan was last seen in Game Changer, directed by S. Shankar. The political drama, which revolved around an upright IAS officer battling systemic corruption, received a lukewarm response from both critics and audiences and is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Looking ahead, the actor will headline Peddi, co-starring Janhvi Kapoor. The film also features Shiva Rajkumar and Divyendu in key roles.
Originally slated for a March 2026 release, Peddi was later pushed to April 30, though recent chatter suggests it could face another delay.
While the reported collaboration between Ram Charan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali remains unconfirmed, the prospect of the two coming together for a period adventure has already sparked significant curiosity.
