As Dhurandhar continues its dream run at the box office, racing past the Rs 100-crore milestone in just three days, Akshaye Khanna is receiving widespread acclaim for his intense performance. While his on-screen presence is being hailed by fans and critics alike, an old interview of the actor has resurfaced online, bringing renewed attention to his personal views on relationships and marriage.
In a throwback conversation with Hindustan Times, Akshaye once openly admitted that he does not see himself as the marrying type. Speaking candidly, he had said, “I don’t see myself getting married. I am not marriage material. I am not cut out for that kind of life. It is a commitment, but a drastic lifestyle change.”
‘I’m Even More Commitment-Phobic Now,’ Said The Actor
In another interview with Bombay Times
in 2016, Akshaye doubled down on his thoughts about long-term relationships and personal space. Reflecting on how his mindset had evolved, he had said, “I’m even more commitment-phobic now. I wasn’t like that in the past, but over time, I have become more wary of relationships. It has a lot to do with the fact that I enjoy being alone. I am comfortable in my skin.”
His comments are now gaining fresh traction as fans rediscover the actor’s philosophy about solitude and self-contentment. Many online users have praised his honesty, calling him “refreshingly real” in an industry often driven by conventional norms about relationships.
Meanwhile, Dhurandhar continues to dominate the box office and social media conversations. The film follows the story of Hamza Ali Mazari, a mysterious young man who joins the gangster Rehman Dakait’s gang with a hidden agenda. Hamza even marries the daughter of a powerful Pakistani politician as part of his larger mission. As the plot unfolds, it is revealed that he is actually an Indian spy, operating deep within enemy territory to expose and leak crucial details about underworld operations.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar stars Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi and several others. The film hit theatres on December 5 and has been praised for its gripping narrative and performances.
With the first part turning into a blockbuster, Dhurandhar: Part Two has already been announced and is slated for a theatrical release on March 19, 2026.
