Virat Kohli is back in India to participate in the 3-match ODI series against South Africa, starting Sunday in Ranchi. The former Indian skipper has begun training at the JSCA Stadium in Ranchi, along
with Rohit Sharma and the rest of the team. However, before landing in Ranchi and visiting MS Dhoni’s farmhouse for dinner, Virat attended an event in Mumbai, which was also graced by Bollywood actor and comedian Sunil Grover.
Several videos from the event have been making the rounds on social media, showing Sunil Grover delivering one hilarious punchline after another, leaving Virat Kohli in uncontrollable laughter. One clip has now gone viral, capturing a moment where Kohli laughed so hard that he actually felt a bit of discomfort in his ribs.
The incident occurred when Grover took the stage while impersonating legendary 1983 World Cup–winning captain Kapil Dev—a character he has perfected over the years. His spot-on accent, expressions, and comedic timing had the entire audience in splits from the moment he began, and Kohli was no exception.
The light-hearted moment didn’t go unnoticed. Spotting Kohli’s reaction, Grover paused his act for a second and asked playfully, “Sab theek thak hai? (Is everything fine?)”

Host Gaurav Kapur chipped in with a witty remark that left everyone in the room in splits.
“Bhai do din me match khelna hai. Rib mat tod dena hasa hasa ke. (Brother, a match has to be played in two days. Just look after his ribs).”
Kohli landed in India on Wednesday from London, where he currently resides with his family, and on Thursday evening, he was seen entering Dhoni’s house in Ranchi. After a few hours, several pictures and videos of Dhoni driving Kohli back to the team hotel were shared by fans on X, and within no time they went viral on the internet.

India last played an international match in Ranchi last year. In February 2024, the fourth Test of India-England was played in Ranchi, but Kohli didn’t feature in that game, as he was not available for the entire series due to the birth of his second child.
