Top-order batter Pratika Rawal, who made her T20I debut for India in the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 match against Thailand in Dubai on August 30, has been added to India’s women’s cricket team’s squad for the Asian Games 2026. It has been reported that the right-handed batter from Delhi, who is a regular member of India’s ODI side, has replaced Jemimah Rodrigues.
Jemimah suffered an injury while playing in the 2026 edition of The Hundred in July-August and, as a result, was ruled out of both the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 and the Asian Games 2026.
Pratika was announced as Jemimah’s replacement for the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 last month, and on Wednesday, a BCCI official confirmed that the Delhi-based cricketer will travel to Japan for the Asian Games as well
in place of Jemimah.
“Pratika will be travelling to Japan for the Asian Games as Jemimah’s replacement. Her name is there in the 15-member squad submitted for the Asian Games,” a BCCI source confirmed to IANS.
Since making her T20I debut for India on August 30 against Thailand in Dubai, Pratika has played three matches and scored 36 runs. She batted at No. 3 in all three Group A matches of Women’s Asia Cup 2026 for Harmanpreet Kaur’s side, and scored 22, 10 and 4 runs against Thailand, Hong Kong China and Pakistan, respectively.

In the women’s cricket competition at the Asian Games 2026, India will face Japan in the first quarterfinal on September 17 at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin. The two semifinals are scheduled for September 20, while the medal matches will be played on September 22 in Nisshin.
In the 2023 edition of the Asian Games, India won the gold medal after securing a 19-run victory over Sri Lanka in Hangzhou on September 16.
