Au revoir, Paris – ciao, Rome! Emily in Paris becomes Emily in Rome. The much-awaited first look and trailer of the rom-com series has finally dropped, and fans cannot wait to witness Emily living la dolce
vita in this upcoming season.
On Wednesday, the makers unveiled the trailer of the highly anticipated Season 5 and revealed that the show will premiere on Netflix on December 18.
Emily in Paris Season 5 Trailer
The trailer highlights Lily Collins’ character Emily Cooper’s fairytale romance with Marcello (played by Eugenio Franceschini), whom she met in the previous season. The trailer opens with how Emily and Marcello get closer to each other and eventually fall in love.
Their newfound romance is characterised by passion, intimacy, and commitment. Over the scenes of Emily and Marcello’s love story, a voiceover says, “We start on a beautiful woman. She’s joined by a man. It’s clear they know each other. Unable to keep their hands off each other, eventually sharing a kiss.” Later, Emily is joined by Mindy (played by Ashley Park), who tells her, “Rome looks so good on you,” and Emily cannot help but agree.
The rest of the trailer features rapid footage of Emily’s life and work in Rome as well as glimpses of a new character titled Princess Jane (played by Minnie Driver). “Hearts will roam farther than ever before when EMILY IN PARIS returns December 18,” the official page of Netflix captioned.

Emily and Marcello’s Romance Takes Centre Stage
As per PEOPLE reports, Lily Collins said in a statement, “Marcello is a whole other adventure that we want for Emily, because we ultimately want Emily to be able to have a better work-life balance.” Further talking about the connection between Emily and Marcello, she explained, “I feel like they have a real spark and a real connection and a real romantic connection. A lot of that’s going to continue to play out next season.”
