Vishnu Vishal Reveals Battling An Autoimmune Condition, Says Medication Causes Facial Bloating

As Gatta Kusthi 2 gets ready to hit theatres, many people noticed that Vishnu Vishal looked tired during the film’s promotions. Well, now the actor has finally explained what has really been going on behind the scenes.

On Thursday, Vishnu took to social media and revealed that he has been living with an autoimmune condition for the last three to four years. Thanking fans for checking in on him, he wrote, “Hey everyone, first of all, thank you for all the love and concern you’ve shown through your comments and messages. It truly means a lot, and I wanted to share this with you personally.”

The actor said the medication he has been taking for the condition comes with some visible side effects, which is why his appearance has changed lately. He shared,

“Many of you noticed that my face looks tired lately. The reason is that I’ve been dealing with an autoimmune condition for the last 3-4 years, and the prescribed medication I’m taking on and off has some visible side effects, including the bloating you’ve been noticing. This treatment is medically necessary, and my health has to come first (sic).”

Even though he has been dealing with health issues, Vishnu said he didn’t want to slow down because he felt it was important to support everyone who worked on Gatta Kusthi 2. The film, which also stars Aishwarya Lekshmi, is set to release on July 3, 2026.

He also shared that he is staying hopeful and taking things one day at a time. “I’m hopeful that my health will improve soon. Your concern has only encouraged me to take even better care of myself, and I’m truly grateful for every message and every bit of support (sic),” he wrote.

Wrapping up his note, Vishnu said Gatta Kusthi 2 is now in its final week of promotions and that he is feeling positive and excited for audiences to finally watch the film in theatres. Gatta Kusthi is a Tamil romantic sports comedy drama film written and directed by Chella Ayyavu. It is jointly produced by Ravi Teja, Vishnu Vishal, Shubhra and Aryan Ramesh through RT Team Works and Vishnu Vishal Studioz. The film also stars Aishwarya Lekshmi, Karunas, Munishkanth and Kaali Venkat alongside Vishnu Vishal. The film’s songs and background score have been composed by Justin Prabhakaran.
