England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt entered her name in the record books on Friday (June 12) by becoming England’s highest run-scorer in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. The right-handed batting all-rounder needed 31 runs in England’s opening match of the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup against Sri Lanka in Birmingham to surpass former captain Charlotte Edwards’ tally of 768 runs. Sciver-Brunt achieved the milestone during her unbeaten knock of 46 runs from just 22 balls.
She batted at a strike rate of 209.09 and struck six fours and one six during her innings.
Playing her 30th Women’s T20 World Cup match, Sciver-Brunt now has 784 runs to her name in the tournament, 16 more than Edwards’ total.
In the list of England’s leading run-scorers in Women’s T20
World Cup history, Sciver-Brunt and Edwards are followed by Danni Wyatt-Hodge. Wyatt-Hodge, who remained unbeaten on 105 off 62 balls against Sri Lanka on Friday, has now accumulated 593 runs in 30 Women’s T20 World Cup matches.

The veteran batter, who is set to retire at the end of the ongoing tournament, has amassed 1,216 runs in 42 matches. She is followed by West Indies star Stafanie Taylor and former Australia captain Alyssa Healy.
While Taylor has scored 1,014 runs in 35 Women’s T20 World Cup matches, Healy finished her career with 1,008 runs in 42 appearances.
