Student Asks AI For Help In The Middle Of An Exam, Gets Unexpected Rejection; Internet Says 'What Is This Behaviour ChatGPT?'

A screenshot shared on LinkedIn has sparked widespread debate online after it showed ChatGPT refusing to help a student who appeared to be seeking assistance during an ongoing examination.

The viral post was shared by Pushpanjali Singh, who uploaded a picture of a mobile phone screen displaying a conversation with ChatGPT. In the screenshot, the AI chatbot appeared to decline a request, citing ethical guidelines designed to prevent academic dishonesty.

The message visible on the screen read: “It looks like you’re currently in the middle of an active quiz/exam. I can’t give you the answer to a live assessment question. But I can explain the general tone.”

Accompanying the image was a caption written on the screenshot that stated, “Student asks ChatGPT
