Lucknow Sees Sudden Weather Shift
Lucknow experienced intense heat and bright sunshine throughout Tuesday, but conditions changed dramatically by evening. Strong winds and rainfall brought significant relief. Cloudy skies are expected to persist on Wednesday, April 8, with further chances of rain.
Severe storms and rainfall led to widespread power outages across parts of Lucknow. Areas such as Kursi Road, Chowk, Kanpur Road, Telibagh, Dubagga, Thakurganj, Chinhat, and Gomti Nagar remained without electricity for several hours.
Fallen trees also caused traffic disruptions in certain localities.
Rain Brings Pollution Relief In Ghaziabad
In Ghaziabad, rainfall has not only lowered temperatures but also improved air quality. The Air Quality Index (AQI) has dropped to 149, indicating a noticeable improvement.
Farmers Face Growing Concerns
Despite offering relief from heat, the unseasonal rain and strong winds have raised serious concerns among farmers. According to the Navbharat Times report, crops such as wheat, mustard, and pulses are currently ready for harvest, and adverse weather could damage yields significantly. Moisture from rainfall also poses a risk to mustard grains.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to remain in close contact with farmers. He emphasised that while unseasonal rains have created difficulties, the government stands firmly with the farming community. Instructions have been issued to assess crop damage promptly and ensure timely compensation.
District authorities have been asked to visit affected areas, keep field teams active, and maintain coordination at all administrative levels. Compensation is also to be provided for loss of life, livestock, injuries, and other disaster-related damages.
Authorities have warned that any occurrence of hailstorms could further aggravate the damage, particularly for standing crops already vulnerable due to weather fluctuations.
Erratic Weather Patterns Leave Residents Perplexed
Uttar Pradesh is currently witnessing highly unpredictable weather, with spells of intense sunshine followed by sudden rain. In cities like Noida and Greater Noida, these rapid shifts throughout the day have left residents uncertain and confused about daily conditions.
