Travelling from Mumbai International Airport to different parts of the city by private cab can be expensive. This is because cab companies usually add waiting and parking charges, which increase the total
fare. Recently, someone shared a simple and cost-effective alternative for travellers going to or from Navi Mumbai. The suggestion was to use Metro’s Aqua Line 3 from Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 to reach the BKC Metro station.
The individual even shared screenshots comparing fares from the airport to Navi Mumbai by cab and via the Metro route, showing a shocking difference. Instead of paying around Rs 1,000, travellers can make the same journey for nearly half the price.
Individual Shares Cost Saving Uber Tip
The person who first took a cab from the airport to Navi Mumbai was charged Rs 1,089 by Uber. However, when they checked the fare via BKC Metro, it showed only Rs 559. They made a similar comparison for the return journey from Navi Mumbai to the airport. The cab fare showed Rs 669, while travelling to BKC Metro, the cost was just Rs 509.
The post on X (Formerly Twitter) came with the caption, “People travelling to Navi Mumbai from the Airport and vice versa, please use the Aqua Line 3 and travel to BKC Metro station from T1/T2. I myself did this and the difference in fare is attached in screenshots below.”

Social Media Users React To Useful Metro Tip
Reacting to the post, a user jokingly wrote, “Bro, why Uber? Just do some time travel into the future and take the Gold line, it will be the cheapest option.”
Another shared, “Just a note that all these fares are before the demand. Once demand rises, the fares will too. I hope there’s a shuttle planned on the same line as the metro line until the metro doesn’t come to reality.”
“True since WEH is a jam most of the time. Will have a good cost and time saving,” a comment read.
One more added, “If there is not much luggage, the best is to take an auto to Vile Parle / Andheri and catch Harbour Line or travel in chalo bus.”

Not just the airport, on October 9, the final stretch of Metro Line 3, also called the Aqua Line, is set to be inaugurated. This last phase, running from the Science Museum to Cuffe Parade, completes Mumbai’s first fully underground metro line. Once open, it will allow smooth and direct travel from Colaba to Aarey.
