June 2 (PTI) Multiple godowns were gutted in a huge fire in Gondia city in Maharashtra on Tuesday, officials said, adding that nobody was injured in the incident.
The blaze, which erupted at 9:45 AM, was brought under control after around six hours.
Gondia municipal corporation fire officer Neeraj Kale said the private premises in the Shastri Ward area where the fire erupted housed different godowns storing sanitaryware, tiles, and jute sacks.
A short circuit is suspected to be the cause.
Eight fire vehicles were involved in firefighting operations, assisted by a team of firefighters summoned from Adani Power in Tirora.
The structure is said to be old and dilapidated, and some portion of it had caved in, officials added. PTI COR NSK
