However, Kantara Chapter 1 appears to have a firm hold even in its fourth week of run. The film far exceeded fans’ expectations, earning high praise for its dramatic performances, deep depiction of regional mythology, and remarkable technical expertise. The film has earned over Rs 600 crore so far, and its remarkable performance continues.
According to Sacnilk, the film grossed Rs 2.25 cr on its fourth Thursday in India, raising its total domestic earnings to Rs 601.55 crore. On Thursday, the film had an occupancy rate of 10.31 per cent in Kannada, 10.52 per cent in Telugu, and 11.80 percent in Hindi.

The film was released on October 2 and competed with Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. Nevertheless, it exceeded all expectations. It is also one of this year’s highest-grossing Indian films, a remarkable achievement for a regional production.

Kantara: Chapter 1 is a prequel to the 2022 film Kantara that investigates the origins of the heavenly forest and the Daivas. The plot takes place in the fourth century and revolves around the fight between a tribal chieftain, Berme (Rishab Shetty), and the invading Kadamba empire, which is striving for control of the resource-rich land.
