SRK, Deepika, Alia, Ranveer And Aamir Showed Up For Ranbir's 'Emotional' Birthday: Karan Johar Recalls

Karan Johar is the one person in the entire Hindi film industry who gets along with almost every actor. In fact, several Bollywood stars have often said that he is genuinely a good friend to most. As such,

when he shared a photo of himself with Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh in the same frame, he broke the internet. Now, Karan has revealed how the stars managed to take the “blockbuster” photo.

During an appearance on Sania Mirza’s podcast, Serving It Up With Sania, Karan revealed, “This was Ranbir’s birthday, right before the pandemic. I think it was an emotional day due to reasons to do with his dad’s health (late Rishi Kapoor). But it was also his birthday and we just landed up to wish him and everybody whom we called, they just came.”

“Because it was also an emotional day. And then we took this picture, and it went fully viral. Just look at the cast it has. It is a mega cast. I don’t think so actors like this can ever come together. I think so after Ellen DeGeneres’ Oscar selfie, this is not a selfie, but it is one for the books,” the filmmaker shared.

Back in 2018, when Karan had originally shared the photo on Instagram, he captioned it, “The biggest BLOCKBUSTER ever!!!!!❤️😘😘😘😘” The photo immediately went viral across social media platforms, and still continues to create buzz every time it resurfaces. In the picture, the stars looked super happy as they posed for the photo of the year.

Ranbir had his arms around Deepika and Ranveer, while Alia and Karan were twinning in red. Shah Rukh Khan held Alia Bhatt close, and Aamir Khan sat next to them, smiling brightly. In his signature goofy style, Ranveer Singh posed with one arm and one leg in the air. The image has around 875.4K likes today.

Back then, many fans speculated in the comments and wondered if the stars were finalised as the cast of the Brahmastra trilogy. However, Karan Johar has revealed that they had gathered to show their love and support for Ranbir Kapoor in his time of duress.
