Adelaide Strikers’ Jerrssis Wadia on Saturday, December 27, lit up the ongoing Big Bash League with three sixes and a boundary, although his franchise fell just seven runs short of the target posted by the Brisbane Heat, at the Gabba.
Although his team fell short by seven runs chasing 180, Wadia’s explosive 22 runs off his first four deliveries against Jack Wildermuth have become the highlight of the game.
Coming in at number six after Jamie Overton’s dismissal, Wadia made an immediate impact, launching Wildermuth from the first delivery with three sixes and a four in his opening four balls.
However, Wadia could not steer his team to a win against Brisbane, falling to Wildermuth in the 19th over after an explosive 34 runs off 16 deliveries. Watch

Wadia, a player of Indian origin whose parents still reside in Mumbai, was part of the Adelaide Strikers U19 programme before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Wadia has been a regular in the South Australian Premier Cricket circuit since the 2022/23 season, representing Adelaide, East Torrens and Tea Tree Gully.
A bowling all-rounder by trade, Wadia was signed as a local replacement cricketer for Alex Carey.
“Jerrssis is a huge talent and we are excited to see what he can do. It is a great opportunity and it is a great sign for the Strikers Academy that he has been able to come through,” head coach Tim Paine has said.
This was Wadia’s second game in the league. He struggled in his debut, scoring just seven runs off nine deliveries and conceding 20 runs in two overs.
As per Cricket Australia, Wadia has scored 680 runs at a brilliant average of 56.67, with a top score of 123 and has also taken 19 wickets in the South Australian Premier League.
