Luxury cars are usually associated with five-star hotels and ultra-rich owners, which is why a recent sighting on Bengaluru’s streets left many people puzzled. A viral video shows a gleaming Rolls-Royce halted at a traffic signal, but with a yellow number plate, typically meant for commercial taxis.
The person filming the clip can be heard expressing disbelief, questioning how a car as expensive as a Rolls-Royce could be registered as a taxi. He also wonders how someone he assumes to be “poor” could secure a VIP number plate, repeatedly pointing out what he sees as a bizarre mismatch. The unusual combination of a luxury car, taxi registration and premium plate quickly caught attention online. As the video spread, it left viewers divided, some amused,
others genuinely confused by the rare sight.
Rolls-Royce Taxi Shocks Bengaluru Streets
In the Instagram clip, the man can be heard saying, “If this man is poor, then why did he buy a Rolls Royce? And if he did buy one, why did he register it as a taxi? A taxi number is seen as a sign of being poor and if he is poor, then how did he get a VIP number plate?”
Can This Be Possible?
Bengaluru-based Siddheshwara Travels is the company behind the eye-catching Rolls-Royce taxi. The travel firm offers a Rolls-Royce Ghost as a luxury cab service, capable of seating up to five passengers. The car comes loaded with premium features, including powerful performance, advanced air conditioning with air-quality control, adjustable seats, a navigation system and passenger airbags for safety.
As expected, the pricing matches the luxury. An 8-hour ride covering up to 80 kilometres costs Rs 59,999, while a 12-hour package for 100 kilometres is priced at Rs 93,999. For outstation travel, the rate is Rs 600 per kilometre. The service also includes a driver allowance of Rs 1,000, with an additional Rs 1,000 for extended hours. Any extra kilometres are charged at Rs 600 each, while extra hours cost Rs 6,000 per hour.
