The buzz around Ramayana is set to escalate significantly, with the makers preparing to unveil a new asset on April 2. According to Pinkvilla, producer Namit Malhotra and director Nitesh Tiwari have strategically aligned the reveal with Hanuman Jayanti, marking a key moment in the film’s promotional rollout.
First Proper Look At Star Cast In Character
This upcoming reveal will finally move the film from announcement-stage curiosity to visual clarity. Audiences will see Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman in their on-screen avatars for the first time.
The emphasis, however, is not on scale just yet, but on how these characters have been interpreted.
‘This Asset Is Designed
To Introduce The World Through Its Characters’
As per Pinkvilla, the asset is being crafted as a character-first introduction rather than a spectacle-driven teaser.
A source close to the project said, “This asset is designed to introduce the world of Ramayana through its characters. It’s more personal and rooted in how each role has been envisioned. The scale and action will be explored in a separate asset that will arrive in a couple of months.”
The idea is to familiarise viewers with the emotional core before expanding into the film’s visual ambition.
Ensemble Reveal And Long-Term Campaign
Alongside the primary cast, the reveal is also expected to showcase the larger ensemble, including Rakul Preet Singh, Lara Dutta, Vivek Oberoi, Arun Govil and Kunal Kapoor.
The April 2 drop is just the beginning. The report suggests that the makers are rolling out a structured seven-month promotional campaign, with multiple assets planned to gradually build anticipation.
Bigger Scale Asset To Follow
While this reveal will centre on characters, a subsequent video in the coming months is expected to spotlight the film’s scale, action and world-building.
Ramayana is envisioned as a two-part saga, with music composed by Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman, signalling a blend of global scale with rooted storytelling.
Diwali 2026 Release Locked
With a staggered promotional strategy now in motion, Ramayana is positioning itself as one of the biggest cinematic events on the horizon, with its first installment set for a Diwali 2026 release.
