A shocking accident in Udupi city left people stunned when a car suddenly went out of control and moved backwards, hitting nearby vehicles. The incident happened on the morning of December 29, 2025, near Omega Cushion on Jamia Masjid Road. Bike riders, along with a rickshaw driver, were injured in the crash and rushed for medical attention.
The terrifying moment was captured on CCTV and the video has now gone viral, showing the car moving in reverse before colliding with other vehicles. According to reports, the driver, Avi Shanubagh, was attempting to drive a car that was parked and unexpectedly started rolling backwards. The incident created a chaotic scene.

According to TV9, the driver of the automatic
car may have confused the accelerator with the brake, causing the vehicle to surge forward and hit a railing, with a pedestrian possibly in the way. The situation worsened when the car door opened. The bike rider, who was seriously injured, has been admitted to a private hospital, while the others escaped with minor injuries.
The video posted on X came with the caption, “An automatic car reportedly moved due to possible confusion between the brake and accelerator pedals. The car door was also not properly closed. The vehicle moved slightly forward and then rolled back.”
