Bhubaneswar, Jul 6 (PTI) Bhubaneswar deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Jagmohan Meena on Monday said he has resigned from the Indian Police Service, citing personal reasons.
Meena, a 2013-batch IPS officer, has submitted his resignation to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. His resignation is yet to be accepted, sources said.
“Yes, I submitted my resignation letter to the government a few days ago, citing personal reasons. My resignation letter is under process and has not yet been accepted. The decision is purely personal, and there was no external pressure on me to quit the service,” Meena told reporters.
He urged people not to link his resignation to any other factor.
“I reiterate that my resignation is purely personal. I was thinking about
it for a long time. I thank the people of Odisha for allowing me to serve them. I also thank the state government for giving me major assignments,” he said.
Before being posted as Bhubaneswar DCP, Meena served as Cuttack DCP and as SP in Angul and Ganjam districts.
Though Meena did not disclose his plans, sources close to him said he may join a private organisation after his resignation is accepted. PTI AAM AAM MNB
