Etah (UP), Jul 29 (PTI) A 12-year-old disabled boy drowned while trying to rescue a stray cow from a pond in Uttar Pradesh’s Etah district on Wednesday, police said.
Jalesar Station House Officer Akhilesh Dixit said the incident took place in Daulatpur Muski village.
According to police, Aditya was taking a stray cow to a cowshed along with some other children when the animal entered a pond near a college.
While attempting to bring the cow out of the water, Aditya entered the pond but slipped and drowned in the deep water, the officer said.
The children accompanying him raised an alarm, following which villagers and family members rushed to the spot.
After a prolonged search, Aditya was pulled out of the pond, but he had died by then, the officer
added.
Police reached the spot after receiving information, sent the body for post-mortem examination and initiated further legal proceedings, SHO Dixit said. PTI COR KIS MPL MPL
