India will face six-time champions Australia in their fifth and final Group A match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. The high-voltage clash between the two star-studded sides is scheduled to be played at the iconic Lord’s in London from 7:00 PM IST on Sunday (June 28).
The match against the Sophie Molineux-led side at the Home of Cricket is a must-win fixture for the Women in Blue, as a convincing victory over the Southern Stars will help Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. finish in the top two of the Group A standings and secure a place in the semifinals of the ongoing 12-team tournament in England. However, a defeat will eliminate the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup winners from the competition if South Africa manage to defeat Bangladesh in the first
match of Sunday at the same venue (Lord’s).
India have won three of their four matches so far in the tournament and are currently placed second in the Group A points table with six points. Australia, on the other hand, have collected eight points from their four matches and sit at the top of the standings.
