Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent Season 2 Episode 6, featuring Nishant Tanwar, Varun Dhawan, Medha Shankr and Sharon Verma, aired recently on Netflix. India’s Got Latent had faced some serious heat as its first season aired, hence Samay is quite careful about the kind of jokes used in the new episodes. In the recent episode, a contestant cracked a joke about the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, but Samay stopped him midway and asked him to say something they can keep in the episode.
When Samay Raina asked a contestant about his fear of flights and said, “You have a huge fear of flights. Why? Are they very expensive?” Laughing at the question, Vijay replied, “No, I’m from Ahmedabad na. So one year ago, main aise hi terrace pe baitha tha chill
kar raha tha. Phir mere dost ka phone aaya ki ‘Left side dekh.’”
Samay quickly understood the reference was to the June 12, 2025, Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, and he quickly stopped Vijay mid-way and said, “Can you give a different answer that we can keep?” Vijay then quickly changed his response and joked, “Bhot mehngi hoti hai yaar.”
Samay then opened up about the difficulties he is facing in doing shows in Ahmedabad. The comedian said, “Mere khud ke show nahi ho pa rahe hain Ahmedabad mein.” He then folded his hands and continued, “Ahmedabad authorities, if you are watching this, let me do shows in Ahmedabad,” and added, “I love performing in Gujarat.”
Samay has been facing difficulties ever since India’s Got Latent faced serious backlash in February 2025 over Ranveer Allahbadia’s controversial remarks on the show. The comedian’s two shows in Ahmedabad got cancelled.
