After nearly two years of silence, Suga showed up without warning, and the Internet cracked almost instantly. On Sunday, the BTS rapper surprised fans with his first Weverse live of 2025. It was also his first broadcast
since enlisting for military service. He had given no teaser or prior announcement for the occasion. What the ARMY received was just a notification, a black screen revealing Suga and fans scrambling to confirm it was real.
The moment got even more chaotic when he lifted a black cat into frame and casually introduced him.

More About The Weverse Live And SUGA’s Cat
Suga appeared dressed in all black, glasses on, calm as ever. In his arms was his cat, Tang – a name that translates to “Sugar.” The introduction alone was enough to tip fans into full meltdown mode.
The live wasn’t long or dramatic. That almost made it hit harder.
At one point, Suga addressed viewers directly, saying, “Everyone, it’s cold, please take care of your health. In the near future, I’ll come back again.”

For fans who hadn’t seen him live since before enlistment, it felt unreal. And the timing didn’t help. No warning meant reactions poured out in real time across platforms.
ARMY Reacts In Real Time
One fan shared a video showing a group of ARMY members gathered inside a movie theatre. Phones buzzed, notifications popped up, and the room exploded. As Suga appeared on their screens, the group squealed, laughed, and cheered in sync. The clip spread fast.

“I’m glad we as a fandom didn’t overreact. Valid reactions all round,” one fan joked. Another wrote, “When notification came, I needed to check twice to be sure it’s really yoongi and I’m not dreaming.” A third added, “Awww I love us ARMYS so much. Why is this making me cry??”
The reactions said everything. This wasn’t about trends or numbers. It was about seeing him again.
Where BTS Stands Now
Suga began his social service on September 22, 2023, and completed his mandatory duty in June this year. His return has been one of the final pieces fans were waiting on as BTS edges closer to a full reunion after more than two and a half years apart.
Jin enlisted first in December 2022 and was discharged in June last year. J-Hope followed and completed his service in October 2024. Namjoon, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook were discharged just last week.
Recently, J-Hope held a concert in Seoul that turned into an unofficial BTS reunion moment. Namjoon, Jin, Suga, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook were all in attendance.
