Brazil To Announce Squad For FIFA International Friendly Against India On September 9

Five-time FIFA World Cup winners Brazil will travel to India next month to take on the Blue Tigers in a FIFA international friendly. The historic match between India and Brazil is scheduled to take place at Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on October 3. While India announced their squad for the much-anticipated clash in front of the home fans on August 31, Brazil are yet to reveal the names of the players who will travel to India.

Brazil last played an international match in July 2026, when they faced Norway in the Round of 16 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford and suffered a 1-2 defeat. In that fixture, Vinicius Junior, Alisson Becker, Marquinhos, Neymar Jr, Casemiro and Endrick, among others, featured for the Selecao. It will be interesting

to see how many of them make the trip to India for the FIFA international friendly.

According to a post shared by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on September 2, Brazil men’s football team head coach Carlo Ancelotti will announce the 26-member squad for the upcoming three international friendlies against Australia and India on September 9.

“A Super Data FIFA is coming! On the next Wednesday, September 9th, at 3 PM (Brasília time), we’ll have the announcement of the 26 names that will compete in the three friendlies that are part of the Brazilian National Team’s schedule for the months of September and October,” the CBF posted on X.

Before travelling to India for the October 3 friendly, Brazil will play two international friendly matches against Australia.

Like Brazil, Australia also participated in the FIFA World Cup 2026 and finished second in Group D. However, they suffered a defeat to Egypt in a penalty shootout in their Round of 32 match.

India are also scheduled to play two more friendlies during the upcoming international window. Before facing Brazil, India will take on Panama in Bengaluru on September 25. Their third international friendly is scheduled against two-time FIFA World Cup winners Uruguay. The match against Uruguay will also be played at Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on October 6.
