The agitation by candidates preparing for government recruitment examinations in Bihar is expected to intensify in Patna. Student leader Dilip Kumar has announced that candidates protesting over TRE 4, BSSC, librarian, sub-inspector, and constable recruitment will begin a hunger strike at Gardanibagh on August 18.
According to Kumar, if the government fails to take concrete action on their demands within five days, the protesters will intensify their agitation and surround the Bihar Legislative Assembly. He said candidates have been raising their concerns for a long time and will now put greater pressure on the government through a sustained protest.
Candidates Demand Immediate Release of TRE 4 Advertisement
The primary demand of the protesting
candidates is the immediate release of the TRE 4 recruitment advertisement for all vacant posts and subjects. Student leaders said they are not seeking any new requisition from the government and that their only demand is for the recruitment process to begin without further delay.
Kumar alleged that the state Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari has failed to fulfill his assurances and said candidates preparing for teacher recruitment have been waiting for the advertisement for a long time. According to the protesters, a large number of teaching posts are vacant, yet the recruitment advertisement has not been issued.
During the protest, candidates also raised slogans against Tiwari. Student leaders questioned his statements and qualifications and called for an investigation. They further demanded that he resign if the TRE 4 advertisement is not released. Kumar said candidates are no longer satisfied with assurances and want a clear decision and a definite timeline for the recruitment process.
Protest Extends Beyond BPSC TRE 4
The agitation is not limited to candidates awaiting TRE 4 recruitment. Candidates preparing for BSSC, librarian, sub-inspector, and constable recruitment have also joined the movement. Student leaders are demanding that all pending recruitment processes be completed within the stipulated timelines.
The protesters argue that prolonged delays are affecting thousands of young people preparing for government jobs. They say repeated delays not only disrupt their preparation but can also affect candidates because of increasing age limits. They have therefore urged the government to take immediate steps to complete all pending recruitment processes.
Hunger Strike From August 18
Kumar announced that the hunger strike will commence at Gardanibagh in Patna on August 18. He said that if the government fails to address the candidates’ demands within five days, the protesters will escalate their agitation and march to surround the Assembly.
The protesters’ primary demand is the immediate release of the TRE 4 recruitment advertisement covering all vacant posts and subjects. They have said they will continue their agitation until the government takes a concrete decision on the pending recruitment processes.
