Bollywood fans know the Deols as one of Hindi cinema’s strongest film families, with Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Esha Deol and even the younger generation Karan and Rajvir carrying the legacy forward.
But not everyone knows that the iconic family also has a member who quietly walked away from showbiz despite a fast-rising career. Her name is Deepti Bhatnagar, Dharmendra’s daughter-in-law, who chose to swap film sets for airport terminals and now travels the world as a digital creator.
Today, millions recognise her not for red carpets, but for her travel series and YouTube journeys across the globe. However, her story began long before content creation became a full-time dream for many.
From Meerut to Modelling Success
Born in Meerut, Deepti moved to Mumbai and first ran a handicrafts business before modelling found her. She soon won a Miss India title at 18 and landed campaigns that changed her life overnight. As she once told Hindustan Times, “Modelling was easy money, so I succeeded.” Within a year, she had bought her first home in Juhu — from Madhuri Dixit.
Films Across Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Hollywood
Deepti made her Hindi debut in Ram Shashtra (1995), followed by roles in Pelli Sandadi (Telugu, 1996) and Dharma Chakkaram (Tamil, 1997). She also appeared in Fred Olen Ray’s Hollywood film Inferno, which coincidentally featured R. Madhavan in his first international project. Later, she was seen in Mann (1999) with Aamir Khan and Manisha Koirala.
How She Married Into the Deol Family
Before she ever imagined it, life brought her to the Deols. After a commercial with Sunny Deol, she was told to meet Dharmendra but admitted she was “too scared.” Years later, she married Randeep Arya, Dharmendra’s cousin Veerendra’s son. They have two sons, Shubh and Shiv.
The Turning Point: From Actress to Travel Host
By 2001, Deepti and her husband launched a production house and created travel shows like Yatra and Musafir Hoon Yaaron, taking her to 90 countries, often with her children. She said, “Exploring the world with them is my biggest blessing.”
Today, she is a full-time travel YouTuber, choosing peace over pressure. “There’s zero stress in my life because I continue to move away from situations that take away my happiness,” she shared.
