Prabhas' Salaar 2 After Dragon? Prashanth Neel Reveals What’s Next After Jr NTR’s Action Film

Prashanth Neel is currently gearing up for Dragon, his upcoming action entertainer headlined by Jr NTR. The film is slated to release in theatres on June 11, 2027. Now, in a recent conversation, the filmmaker has revealed that he is likely to move on to Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam, starring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, after completing his current project.

Prashanth Neel To Begin Salaar 2 After Dragon?

During a conversation with Galatta Plus, Prashanth Neel shared that Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam is expected to begin immediately after Dragon is completed. The director also addressed the possibility of KGF 3, but said that he has not yet decided when he will return to that franchise.

Interestingly, Neel also said that Dragon

would mark a shift away from the kind of hyper-stylised mass-action films he has become closely associated with. The filmmaker revealed that he has been developing a mythological film series, which will reportedly have a more colourful visual palette compared to the darker worlds of his previous films. He also expressed his interest in making a smaller, more intimate drama someday.

About Salaar 2

Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam is the much-awaited sequel to Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire. The first film starred Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran as co-leads and was set in the dystopian city-state of Khansaar.

The story revolved around the intense and unstable bond between childhood friends Deva and Vardharaja Mannar. When political betrayal threatens Varadha’s claim to power, he calls upon Deva for help, setting the stage for a violent battle for the throne.

Apart from Prabhas and Prithviraj, Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire also featured Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, Easwari Rao, Shruti Haasan, Sriya Reddy, John Vijay and several others in important roles.

Dragon is an upcoming action spectacle starring Jr NTR in the lead role. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the film will reportedly feature the RRR star as Luger, a man connected to a substance-smuggling syndicate that is heading towards a major crackdown by authorities.

The film stars Rukmini Vasanth as the female lead. It also features Anil Kapoor, Biju Menon and others in pivotal roles.

Prabhas’ Upcoming Films

On the work front, Prabhas is currently busy with Fauzi and Spirit. Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, Fauzi is a period action drama that is expected to release in December 2026.

Meanwhile, Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is a cop action drama. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on March 5, 2027.
