A section of the Internet has meticulously dissected the wedding ceremonies of YouTuber Sourav Joshi and his wife Avantika Bhatt for the past four weeks or so. Since doing Bhatt’s face reveal on his YouTube channel,
Joshi has uploaded over a dozen vlogs that have showcased the couple entering the next chapter of their lives. From “Meet My Saali” to “Shadi Ka Ghar” to “Shadi Day 1” to “Shadi Ki Packing Hogyi” to “Haldi Vlog” to “Mehendi Vlog” to “Shadi Vlog” to “Reception Vlog” to honeymoon travels, the popular vlogger has documented and uploaded everything under the sun since he revealed the news of his wedding to 30+ million subscribers on YouTube.
However, with each vlog shared online came extreme social media scrutiny and incessant trolling.
But Bhatt, upon Joshi’s question, has finally responded to the online army of trolls, leaving some impressed by her answer.
Who Is Sourav Joshi?
The 26-year-old vlogger, hailing from Uttarakhand’s Someshwar, grew up in a lower-middle-class household. Facing an early setback in his academic career, Joshi returned home after 12th standard and began uploading his art and sketches on YouTube. In 2019, with little success in his YouTube journey, Joshi pointed the camera at his family. The middle-class family interactions resonated with the masses, and his growing relatability and household banter found rapid subscribers as he decided to go full throttle, uploading daily vlogs for 365 days during the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
Who Is Avantika Bhatt?
Bhatt, who hails from Uttarakhand and is the daughter of a well-known astrologer, has known Joshi for a long time. The fathers of both groom and bride have been long-time friends, making the couple’s union even more special.
Unlike her husband, Joshi, Bhatt isn’t a content creator but does have a substantial following of over 600K followers on her Instagram account. Her appearances in Joshi’s vlogs leading up to marriage generated sufficient interest and curiosity among the famous vlogger’s fans.

The Wedding
On Saturday, December 6, Joshi tied the knot with Bhatt in an intimate ceremony held on the ghats of Rishikesh. He posted a series of photographs with the caption, “पवित्र बंधन गंगा किनारे”, marking the sacred chapter of his life by the sacred Ganges.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the vlogger’s special day. A photograph of him standing alongside Joshi, Bhatt, and their families quickly went viral, adding a political note to what was otherwise a deeply personal affair.

The Reaction, The Criticism, The Trolling
Joshi’s dedication to uploading frequent vlogs even during and after his wedding with Bhatt meant there were millions of old and new eyes on the couple around the clock. This also meant that the couple were constantly judged for how they conducted themselves during these wedding ceremonies. Their event, from attire to hairdos, dance performances, and family interactions — everything was put under the scanner.
“Everyone and everything is content in that family,” a Reddit user wrote.
“I remember one of his old vlogs where he said whenever he decided to marry he will stop vlogging because he wants to keep that part of his life private…i wonder what happened to that (sic).”
“Crore per month without doing anything isn’t easy to give up. In fact he married early to give birth to content as his brothers are already grown ups and kunali isn’t getting younger too (sic).”
Unverified allegations of Bhatt bullying her classmates in her school days over their appearances also recently surfaced on Instagram, further inviting the troll remarks directed towards Bhatt.
The “dead” dynamic between the viral couple was also put under the scanner as well as Bhatt’s “disinterested” resting facing during the varied ceremonies. Both Bhatt and Joshi were further mocked for putting “no effort” in their looks in the photoshoots marking the special occasions.

Bhatt Responds To Trolls
After being subjected to social media scrutiny and merciless trolling, Joshi quizzed his wife if she wasn’t happy at their wedding.
“Why? Who said? A person gets tired. I can’t keep a fake smile on my face all the time. Who I am and how I felt in the moment, I acted the way I wished to. You know what the problem is? People have gotten used to fake things. Anything natural to them or the way it is supposed to be, they don’t seem to like it,” Bhatt said.
