Ace India batter Virat Kohli and young Delhi pacer Prince Yadav celebrated their team’s thrilling win against Gujarat with immense excitement, as they pulled off a heist to take their team to a seven-run
win, in what went from a straightforward chase to a complete mess created by Gujarat.
Chasing 255, Aarya Desai and wicketkeeper Urvil Patel built a 67-run opening partnership before the latter was dismissed by Prince.
Aarya and Abhishek Desai then added 54 runs for the second wicket before Navdeep Saini dismissed the former in the 25th over. At that point, Gujarat needed 134 runs off the second half of their innings, with eight wickets in hand.
But Gujarat soon found themselves at 144/5, before Saurav Chauhan and Vishal Jayswal added 69 runs for the sixth wicket.
In the 42nd over, before Chauhan was dismissed by Simarjeet Singh, Gujarat required 42 runs off 51 balls. But the former’s wicket started a procession and they were dismissed for 247, falling eight runs short of the target.
Star India spinner Ravi Bishnoi, who was the final wicket to fall, was caught by Kohli off Prince. A video of the team’s celebrations has since gone viral on social media. Watch the video here:
