A viral video of distressed woman in Mumbai begging security personnel to let her car pass through a heavy traffic blockade has sparked outrage online.
The gridlock occurred during a luxury supercar rally flagged off by Amruta Fadnavis, the wife of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The incident took place on September 6, along the Juhu beach suburb stretch near the Sun-N-Sand Hotel and Bastian Beach Club. The Queens’ Drive Club 6.0 event was an all-women supercar convoy organized as a cancer-awareness drive.
THE WOMAN’S PLEA
The commuter, who claimed she had already been stuck in the gridlock for 60 to 90 minutes, walked up to the media line. With folded hands, she repeatedly pleaded with event organizers and security, saying, “Please let me go…Please
let me pass. Please make way. There’s an emergency at home. I’m going to cry now.” Instead of being granted passage, the woman was pulled back by security personnel as the event continued. The video has quickly gone viral on social media platforms like Instagram and X, igniting a fierce debate on VIP culture in India. Thousands of citizens have criticised the local administration and organizers for blocking busy public roads for high-profile promotional events at the expense of ordinary citizens facing medical or personal emergencies.

THE WORLI INCIDENT
An eerily similar incident of public outrage occurred earlier in Mumbai on April 21, when a frustrated female commuter boldly confronted a Maharashtra State Minister during a massive traffic jam.
A woman was stuck in a grueling traffic gridlock for over an hour while attempting to drive and pick up her child. Overcome with frustration, she stepped out of her vehicle, walked directly into a moving political rally in Worli, and angrily confronted Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Girish Mahajan.
The viral footage showed her pointing toward a nearby open ground and shouting at the minister and police personnel: “Get out of here. You are causing a traffic jam. Why can’t you hold these rallies on open grounds instead of public roads?”.
The march was a BJP political demonstration ironically organized to support the Women’s Reservation Bill.
While Minister Mahajan reportedly tried to calm her down and admitted her anger was partially justified, the aftermath sparked even greater outrage. A formal police complaint was later filed against the woman by an advocate at the Worli Police Station. The complaint accused her of using abusive language and disrupting public order.
This move triggered massive national debate and fierce internet backlash.
