The trailer for Anshul Sharma’s De De Pyaar De 2, the sequel to Akiv Ali’s 2019 hit, dropped on Tuesday and fans are already buzzing with excitement. Starring Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh, Gautami Kapoor,
R Madhavan and Meezaan Jafri in key roles, the film seems to pick up right where the first one left off. Well, it’s not just fans who are excited.
Rajkummar Rao is also gearing up to relive the fun on the big screen as he shared the trailer on his Instagram stories, writing, “This is hilarious. Looking forward to watching in theatres.”
The trailer launch itself was a star-studded affair on Tuesday, with Ajay Devgn and others coming together to meet the media. The cast spoke about the film, its quirky characters and the laughter-filled journey audiences are in to witness in the theatres. During the event, the team also talked about Tabu’s absence in the sequel.
Tabu To Return In De De Pyaar De 3?
The first film saw Ajay Devgn romancing both Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh in a fun, chaotic tale about love, age and second chances. When asked, co-producer Luv Ranjan said, “Hopefully, a third part will happen. In the first part, we went to the man’s house. Now, we’ve gone to the girl’s house. If everything goes well, then we’ll also make both families meet.”
Ajay Devgn added his signature wit, keeping fans guessing. He added, “Like Luv said, if everything works out very well, then when both the families meet, she’ll be a part of it.”
Who Is De De Pyaar De 2’s Director
The sequel also sees a change in director. While the first film was directed by Akiv Ali, Anshul Sharma has come on board for the second one. When asked about the same, Ajay said, “Anshul was involved throughout the making of Part One as well.” Luv Ranjan added, “He was the creative producer on Part One. Akiv wanted to do an action drama this time and didn’t want to repeat the same job.”
De De Pyaar De 2 promises to bring a new twist to the franchise with Rakul’s character introducing Ajay to her family. The film is set to hit the theatres on November 14.
As for Rajkummar Rao, he was last seen in Bhool Chuk Maaf alongside Wamiqa Gabbi. The film is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
