Lucknow Super Giants will take on Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Monday in a clash of the bottom-paced sides in the IPL 2026.
Ahead of the game between two struggling sides, LSG bowling coach Bharath Arun revealed that young pacer Mayank Yadav is fit for the game, but the decision to field him would ultimately come down to the management.
“Mayank Yadav is fit and is raring to go. He is bowling fast,” Arun confirmed at the presser ahead of the game.
“The decision to play him rests with the team mangement,” he added.
Yadav, who was sidelined due to injury for the initial phase of the season, made his return to the field in LSG’s game against RR, but had a game to forget as he was taken for over 50 runs and returned without a wicket.
He missed the game against KKR as the side from Lucknow wanted to manage the lingering effects of the young speedster’s injury.
However, Arun’s admission comes as a relief for LSG fans and the contingent itself as they look to salvage some pride from the ongoing campaign.
Both sides have had forgettable seasons with MI placed 9th in the table with just 4 points from 9 outings, while LSG are placed further behind in the last spot with 4 points too but having played a game fewer than MI.
MI suffered a massive embarrassment against arch-rivals CSK in their previous outing and will look to notch up their third win at the cost of LSG, who have also had to endure a woeful campaign.
