Jaipur, Mar 31 (PTI) Three children died after being buried under a mound of sand that collapsed while they were playing in a field in Sikar district, police said on Tuesday.
The incident took place on Monday afternoon in Ganedi village under the Nechwa police station area, SHO Kailash Chand said.
The deceased were identified as Holesh Meghwal (10), Gautam Saini (14) and Deepesh Nayak (12), he added.
Chand said four children were playing near a field and had dug a tunnel inside a sand mound when it suddenly caved in, trapping three of them underneath.
One child, identified as Krishna, was near the tunnel’s opening and managed to escape. On hearing his cries, villagers rushed to the spot and pulled out the trapped children, but they had already died,
