The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government has accelerated efforts to allocate UDISE+ codes and upgrade school categories for schools affiliated with the BSB to strengthen educational reforms institutionally and make the system for technology-enabled and student-centric.
Under directives issued by Director General of School Education Monica Rani, concerned officials have been instructed to ensure timely completion of all related procedures, according to an official statement. This initiative is being viewed as an important step toward integrating students’ academic records with the national education system.
The expansion of systems such as UDISE+ is aimed at making the education administration more effective, transparent, and accountable
as part of the government’s efforts to strengthen digital governance and technology-based monitoring in the education sector.
According to Rani, new UDISE + codes will be allotted to schools affiliated with the Bharatiya Shiksha Board, and school category upgradation will be carried out wherever required. Furthermore, district officials have been directed to complete the application, verification, and recommendation process within the stipulated timelines.
For schools that already have UDISE codes, the school category upgradation process will be completed in accordance with their recognition status. Concerned officials have been instructed to submit proposals along with the necessary records, reports, and recommendations so that action can be taken as per the prescribed procedure.
Once these schools are integrated into the UDISE+ system, their academic data will be systematically incorporated into the national education framework to facilitate better management of enrollment records, academic progress and other educational processes.
