The Indian government has raised a new security warning for Zoom users on the enterprise version of their company’s network. The latest alert from the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team or CERT-In on February 2, 2026 talks about a serious command injection issue that can make it easy for hackers to attack their system bypassing the Zoom security layers and able to steal data and other information from the targeted users.
Zoom was popular during the pandemic because of people working remotely and assisting them with video meetings from anywhere. Even today, people rely on the platform for work which is why the new risks warrant your attention.
Zoom Injection Vulnerability Issue: What We Know
This particular security issue is linked to the Zoom
multimedia router that is heavily deployed within internal networks of businesses who use the platform for their meetings and other tasks. “A vulnerability exists in Zoom Node Multimedia Router (MMR) due to an OS command injection issue,” the alert notifies.
The agency further suggests that the Zoom security issues could make it high risk for businesses using Zoom applications across platforms. “Successful exploitation of these vulnerabilities could allow an attacker to affect the integrity of the app, gain elevated privileges or cause denial of service conditions on the targeted system.”
These are the Zoom module versions that are facing the risk of the vulnerability:
- Zoom Node Meetings Hybrid (ZMH) MMR module versions prior to 5.2.1716.0
- Zoom Node Meeting Connector (MC) MMR module versions prior to 5.2.1716.0
Zoom has issued its own security bulletin with more details and asks all the affected Zoom customers to update to the latest MMR version by their company’s IT administrators.
The Zoom workplace app is used by businesses and professionals while the Android and iOS apps are popular among most people. If the Zoom version issued by your company system is running on the versions prior to the ones written here, you need to update the Zoom app right away.
