Fire at Bengaluru garage destroys e-bikes, no casualties

Bengaluru, Aug 12 (PTI) A major fire destroyed numerous electric bikes at a garage in NRI Layout in Bengaluru, police said on Wednesday.

The fire broke out around 9 pm on Tuesday and rapidly spread through the garage, where a large number of electric bikes were parked, they said.

Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot following an alert and firefighters brought the blaze under control after a sustained operation, police said.

No casualties were reported.

The fire also spread to the nearby private hospital, causing extensive damage to the facility.

The exact cause of the fire is yet to be established, though a short circuit is suspected to have triggered the blaze, they said.
