A photo of Rihanna feeding a cow during her visit to Mumbai has gone viral, with social media users debating the contrast between the act and the luxury accessory she was carrying.
The image, widely shared online, shows Rihanna feeding a cow during a visit to Antilia, the residence of industrialist Mukesh Ambani. Within the same photo frame, she is seen with a Dior handbag made out of calfskin leather, which rapidly turned out to be the centre of online conversations.
Some users drew attention to the apparent irony of the scene, mentioning the inconsistency of interacting with a living animal, but at the same time being capable of owning products obtained from leather.
The photo emerged as part of Rihanna’s broader visit to India, which drew global
attention. She was among several international guests who attended high-profile celebrations hosted by the Ambani family, events that have previously featured global business leaders, celebrities and performers.
During her visit, Rihanna took part in multiple traditional ceremonies at the residence. Visuals from the event show her participating in a puja, performing aarti, and joining in Phoolon Ki Holi celebrations, where flower petals are used instead of colours.
She was welcomed with a traditional dance performance upon arrival, in keeping with the ceremonial nature of the event. The visit also included interactions with members of the Ambani family and other invited guests.
Rihanna has been associated with major events hosted by the Ambanis in the past as well. She had earlier travelled to India to perform at pre-wedding celebrations linked to the family, events that drew significant international media coverage and featured large-scale performances.
The viral moment gained traction as users focused on the juxtaposition captured in the frame, turning it into a widely shared talking point across platforms.
