Bigg Boss 20 is still weeks away from its television premiere, but the guessing game around its contestant list has already begun. With Salman Khan returning as host and the new season scheduled to premiere on September 6, several names have surfaced online as possible participants. The latest name to join that list is former IPL chairman Lalit Modi.
Lalit Modi being considered for Bigg Boss 20?
According to a Bollywood Bubble report, the makers of Bigg Boss 20 are considering Lalit Modi as a potential contestant for the upcoming season. However, there has been no confirmation from either Modi or the makers about his participation yet.
If he does enter the Bigg Boss house, Modi would easily become one of the most talked-about contestants of the season.
Apart from his years as a cricket administrator and his association with the Indian Premier League, his personal life has also frequently attracted attention.
His relationship with Sushmita Sen, in particular, became a major talking point after Modi publicly announced in July 2022 that the two were dating.
What Lalit Modi said about Sushmita Sen
Earlier, during a conversation with Humans of Bombay, Modi spoke about his relationship with Sushmita and called her “very special” to him.
“Sushmita was very special to me, she made me grow into a lot things that I am today, and was extremely special. She was very much part of my life at that time, and would have been. It was just the distances were too much for us,” he said.
Modi explained that their lives were based in different countries. While Sushmita’s career kept her in India, he was living in London, making the distance difficult to manage.
He had also defended Sushmita against the “gold digger” comments that followed the revelation of their relationship. Rejecting the label, Modi maintained that the actress was financially independent. He even joked that Sushmita would often pick up the bill when they went out and that he was “like a kept boyfriend.”
When Lalit Modi announced their relationship
Modi had taken social media by surprise in July 2022 when he posted several photographs with Sushmita from trips to the Maldives and Sardinia. Calling her his “better-looking partner”, he described their relationship as “a new beginning” and “a new life”.
His posts initially sparked speculation that the two had married, prompting Modi to clarify that they were only dating at the time.
Some of the pictures shared by him were from much earlier meetings, indicating that the two had known each other long before their relationship became public.
For now, Modi’s possible entry into Bigg Boss 20 remains unconfirmed. The Salman Khan-hosted reality show is scheduled to premiere on September 6.
