New details have emerged from the ongoing legal dispute between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, with the actor-director claiming that Lively once referred to her home office as “Buckingham Palace” because of the number of celebrities who visited the space.
According to a deposition transcript obtained by PEOPLE, Baldoni made the statement while testifying on Monday, October 6, 2025, in Los Angeles. The deposition is part of a highly publicised legal battle stemming from allegations surrounding the making of It Ends With Us, in which Lively starred and Baldoni served as both co-star and director.
During the deposition, Baldoni revealed that Lively and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, had a nickname for their at-home office in New York City. “She
used to call it Buckingham Palace, as she said, because so many celebrities walked through there,” Baldoni said. “I think that was her office in her penthouse apartment, which was the place that Ms. Lively requested all of our meetings be.”
The Manhattan penthouse has surfaced repeatedly in court filings, as several meetings related to the film allegedly took place there at Lively’s request.
Legal Battle And Controversial Claims
The deposition comes amid a contentious lawsuit that began in December 2024, when Lively sued Baldoni and others at Wayfarer Studios, accusing them of sexual harassment and retaliation — allegations Baldoni has denied. Baldoni later filed a countersuit accusing Lively and Reynolds of defamation and extortion; however, that case was dismissed by a judge.
The lawsuit was initially scheduled to go to trial in March but has since been postponed until May 2026. Baldoni attended Lively’s deposition in July in person, while Reynolds, 49, was not deposed.
Lively and Reynolds’ New York home has also been mentioned in connection with another disputed incident. Baldoni has claimed that during one meeting inside the penthouse, Reynolds “berated” him over allegations that he had “fat-shamed” Lively during the film’s production.
The residence was additionally referenced during testimony about a separate conversation involving Lively, who was pregnant at the time. According to the deposition transcript, Lively’s attorney, Michael J. Gottlieb, asked Baldoni, “Did you at any point share with Ms. Lively whether you were circumcised?” to which Baldoni responded, “Yes.”
When asked whether Lively had directly posed the question, Baldoni said, “Directly, no.” Gottlieb then sought clarification about who was present at the time. Baldoni replied, “There were people going all around. Mr. Reynolds was in and out of the conversation. She had, I think, two nannies. I felt like there was a housekeeper there. Her assistant was walking around. I think she had two assistants there. Her and I were sitting on the couch, but there were people all around.”
Lively and Reynolds share four children, while Baldoni shares a son and daughter with his wife, Emily.
