The Bureau of Immigration has issued an important reminder to all passengers travelling to India from overseas: completing the Air Suvidha Self-Declaration Form (SDF) is mandatory before arrival. The requirement applies to every international passenger, including Indian passport holders, Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders and foreign nationals, regardless of their nationality or travel history.
In a post on social media, including X and Instagram, the Bureau of Immigration reiterated that the form is not optional and urged passengers to complete it before arriving in India. The requirement is part of the government’s public health screening measures amid the ongoing Ebola outbreak. Travellers have been advised to submit the declaration
before starting their journey so that the necessary information is available to health and immigration authorities.
What Is The Air Suvidha Self-Declaration Form?
Air Suvidha 2.0 is an online passenger health self-declaration portal launched by the Ministry of Civil Aviation in collaboration with Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) and the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The portal allows international passengers arriving in India to submit health and travel information digitally before immigration clearance. The declaration includes details of their travel history over the previous 21 days, possible exposure and relevant symptoms, if any. The information helps authorities identify passengers who may require additional health screening or medical assessment at the airport.
The government launched the upgraded portal on June 25, 2026, as part of measures to strengthen health surveillance at India’s points of entry.
When Should Passengers Fill The Air Suvidha Form?
According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s advisory, passengers can complete the Air Suvidha Self-Declaration Form up to 24 hours before their arrival in India. Travellers are encouraged to submit it before boarding their flight, preferably during web check-in, to avoid delays during the arrival process.
After submitting the form, passengers should download and keep the acknowledgement accessible. They may be asked to show it at the International Travel Health Desk or immigration counter upon arrival. Additional screening may be carried out by airport health officials depending on the information provided in the declaration.
How To Fill The Air Suvidha Self-Declaration Form
Passengers can access the official portal at https://airsuvidha.civilaviation.gov.in/. They should keep the following details ready before beginning the application:
- Valid passport details
- Indian visa details, if applicable
- Flight ticket or boarding pass
- Address of stay in India
- Travel history and foreign transit details
- Working mobile number and email address for OTP verification
- Medical reference letter, if applicable
Travellers must enter their personal details, flight information, travel history and Indian contact address, and complete the health declaration. They should review the information carefully before submitting the form and downloading the acknowledgement.
Air Suvidha Form Is Free: Beware Of Fake Websites
Passengers should also be cautious of fraudulent websites claiming to provide Air Suvidha services. The Ministry of Civil Aviation has warned flyers about fake portals impersonating Air Suvidha 2.0 and attempting to redirect users to payment gateways.
The government has clarified that the official Air Suvidha 2.0 portal is completely free to use and passengers do not have to pay any fee to submit the Self-Declaration Form. Travellers should check the website address carefully and use only the official government portal.
With the form being mandatory for all international arrivals, passengers travelling to India should complete the declaration in advance, save their acknowledgement and check official government advisories before departure.
