Veteran actor Farida Jalal, however, offered a more measured take. While she appreciated the series, she felt Aryan still has room to grow as a filmmaker.

In an interview with Zoom, Farida Jalal was asked if she had watched Aryan Khan’s debut web series and what she thought of it. The actor responded with warmth, welcoming Aryan into the world of cinema and acknowledging his effort.
Extending her blessings, Farida said, “Welcome home! Yahin ke toh hai, aur kahan jayenge?” (You belong here, where else would you go?)
Having
shared a close bond with Shah Rukh Khan after working together in iconic films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Farida admitted she naturally holds expectations from his son as well.
Reflecting on the show, she added candidly, “I did. Theek tha, it was okay. He could have done it better, but accha toh tha.” Her comment struck a balanced note, appreciative yet honest.

Aryan Khan stepped behind the camera for the first time with The Ba***ds of Bollywood, which premiered on Netflix on September 18 last year. The satirical series stars Lakshya, Raghav Juyal, Sahher Bambba, and Bobby Deol in prominent roles.
A sharp take on the Hindi film industry, the show explores power dynamics, insider privilege, and the struggle for relevance faced by outsiders in Bollywood. Farida Jalal was last seen in the web film The Great Shamsuddin Family, a comedy-drama featuring Kritika Kamra, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Sheeba Chaddha, and Purab Kohli. Written and directed by Anusha Rizvi, the film premiered on JioHotstar on December 12, 2025.
Up next, Farida will appear on the big screen in Vishal Bhardwaj’s O Romeo. Headlined by Shahid Kapoor, the film also stars Triptii Dimri, Disha Patani, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vikrant Massey, and Avinash Tiwary, and is slated for a theatrical release on February 13.
