Top National News:
- A special NIA court has sent Amir Rashid Ali to 10 days of NIA custody for further questioning in the Delhi blast case. Judge Anju Bajaj Chandana approved the custody after hearing the agency’s request. The hearing was held in a closed courtroom with tight security.
- The Assam government has banned the movement of live pigs between districts and stopped the sale of pork in seven districts. This comes after African swine fever (ASF) cases rose sharply. Since January 2025, more than 14,500 pigs have been culled and over 3,000 have died due to the virus, making this one of the state’s worst ASF outbreaks since it was first detected in 2020.

- Over 40 Indian Umrah pilgrims are feared dead after a bus traveling from Mecca to Medina collided with a diesel tanker in Saudi Arabia early Monday morning. The accident reportedly caused the bus to catch fire while most passengers were asleep.
- Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been sentenced to death by the country’s International Crimes Tribunal for her alleged role in ordering a deadly crackdown on student-led protests in August 2024. The verdict, delivered in absentia, claims she incited attacks on students. Sheikh Hasina has strongly rejected the verdict, calling it the result of a “rigged tribunal” under an “unelected government with no democratic mandate.”

- India’s economy continues to grow strongly. Rating agency ICRA expects the GDP to expand by 7% year-on-year in the July-September quarter. India’s gross value added (GVA) is estimated to grow by 7.1%. The official GDP numbers for Q2 FY26 will be released on November 28. In the previous quarter, GDP grew at 7.8% and GVA at 7.6%.
- Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri announced a historic deal to import liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from the US. Indian PSU oil companies will import about 2.2 million tonnes of LPG per year from the US Gulf Coast in 2026. This move is aimed at boosting India’s energy security and diversifying LPG supply.
