these AI-generated edits are quickly becoming the go-to choice for couples looking to capture a timeless, vintage aesthetic.
Where It All Began?
The trend first went viral when a tech and lifestyle blogger shared a series of AI prompts on X. These ready-to-use prompts let users create timeless couple portraits from their own photos. She suggested that couples simply upload their pictures and copy-paste the prompts she provided to generate their vintage-inspired images.
One of her prompts read, “Create a retro, vintage-inspired image – grainy yet bright – based on the reference picture. The girl should be draped in a perfect off-white aesthetic cotton saree with a red blouse, and the guy should be wearing an off-white kurta. The vibe must capture the essence of a 90s movie enhanced by a windy, romantic atmosphere. Make the girl pose like she’s walking and looking back while the partner is holding her saree pallu against an old wooden door with moody shadows.”
Other viral prompts include a romantic close-up of a couple in cosy fall settings, minimalist studio portraits, and dramatic love stories. “Create a retro, vintage-inspired image – grainy yet bright – based on the reference picture. She is in a red saree with wavy curls and a small flower tucked visibly into her hair; he is in a white kurta, standing against a plain wall. The guy should be holding her waist and looking deep into her eyes,” she wrote.

Gemini Polaroid Prompt Trend
Another creator on X jumped on the trend, sharing romantic, autumn-toned prompts that quickly gained traction.
She suggested opening Google Gemini AI, dropping the photo and writing, “Take a picture with a Polaroid camera. The photo should look like a normal photo, without any clear subject or props. The photo should have a slight blur and a consistent light source. Such as a flash from a dark room, spread throughout the photo. Do not change the faces. Replace the background behind the two people with a white curtain. (With the guy hugging me.) Change outfits with a matching couple.”
