McDonald’s has teamed up with Netflix again, and this time it’s bringing Stranger Things into its Happy Meals. The new limited-edition drop is tied to the upcoming animated series Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, and it’s built to feel like a full experience rather than just another themed box, TODAY.com reported. The show itself picks up with familiar characters like Eleven, Mike, Dustin and the rest of the gang as they return to life in Hawkins after everything that’s already happened. Of course, it doesn’t stay normal for long, and they’re pulled into another mystery soon enough. The Happy Meal leans into that world. Each one comes with a themed box, a collectible toy and an activity book. There are 12 different toys in total, so it’s clearly
designed to get people coming back more than once. But the part that stands out is the QR code tucked inside. Scan it, and you unlock a digital game where you can join the “Hawkins Investigators Club” and take on monsters from the series. It’s basically McDonald’s turning a Happy Meal into something you interact with beyond just the toy. The rollout isn’t happening everywhere at once. It kicks off in countries like Canada, Brazil and Mexico from April 28, with the US getting it from May 5. More countries are expected to get it over the next few months. This also fits into a bigger pattern. McDonald’s has been going all in on these pop culture collabs lately, especially with Netflix. Just recently, it launched another themed menu tied to a different show, so this isn’t a one-off. Between the collectibles, the throwback setting and the interactive game, this one feels less like a kids’ meal and more like something aimed at anyone who grew up watching Stranger Things.
