Natalie Portman’s family is getting a little bigger, and the actress has plenty to celebrate. After keeping much of her personal life away from the spotlight, the Oscar winner has now entered a new chapter with her partner, Tanguy Destable. The couple had been looking forward to welcoming their first child together, with Portman previously opening up about how different this pregnancy felt for her. She had also spoken about slowing down, spending time with her family and enjoying the quieter moments in Paris.
According to a source who spoke to PEOPLE, Portman, 45, gave birth to her third baby in Paris last month. The child is her first with French musician Tanguy Destable.
The newborn joins Portman’s two older children, son Aleph, 15, and daughter
Amalia, 9. She shares both children with her ex-husband, director and choreographer Benjamin Millepied.
Portman had confirmed she was expecting her third child during an interview with Harper’s Bazaar in April. At the time, she spoke warmly about the pregnancy and her excitement with Destable. “Tanguy and I are very excited,” she told the publication. “I’m just very grateful. I know it’s such a privilege and a miracle.”
Portman and Destable’s relationship was confirmed by PEOPLE in March 2025. The pair had previously been linked by French publication Voici.
While speaking to Harper’s Bazaar, Portman reflected on how her outlook had changed with age and experience. She said she felt particularly grateful during this pregnancy and was making an effort to appreciate the experience rather than rush through it.
“There is a gratitude that when you’re young, you don’t necessarily grasp,” she said. “And there’s a calm and knowing myself: who I want to spend time with, what kind of energy I want around me that makes the experience so beautiful every day. And knowing it’s probably the last time, I cherish every moment.”
