A video from Bondi Beach showing a beachgoer continuing to lie on her towel as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle walked past has gone viral on social media. This video, which was first posted on TikTok by News.com.au, shows the point when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex found themselves surrounded by lifeguards, cameramen, and the general public while visiting the Sydney beach on April 17. In the footage, one can see a lady relaxing on her towel amid the crowds. Despite the activity around her, she does not move, remaining in place as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle pass by. At one point, Prince Harry appears to laugh after noticing the scene. The video has recorded more than 1.3 million views, with users sharing reactions across platforms. Several
comments described the woman as “unbothered,” while others referred to the moment as reflective of typical Bondi Beach behaviour. The visit to Bondi Beach was part of the couple’s trip to Australia, which began on April 14. The trip included a series of private, business and philanthropic engagements across cities including Melbourne and Sydney. During their stop at Bondi Beach, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle met volunteer first responders at the Bondi Surf Bathers’ Life Saving Club. The meeting was intended to show support for the organisation following a December 2025 terror attack targeting the Jewish community in the area. The Australia visit marked the couple’s first time in the country since their official royal tour in October 2018. Their itinerary also included a visit to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne and a sailing event in Sydney Harbour with Invictus Australia. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle travelled without their children, Prince Archie, aged six, and Princess Lilibet, aged four. The video continues to circulate online, with the beach scene becoming one of the most widely shared moments from the couple’s Australia visit.
